Dog - Gou

Calligraphy on Rice Paper Tea Mug Dog Glass-plate - Dog

The dog is the eleventh symbol of the Chinese zodiac and stands for “Loyalty”. The dog has positive characteristics such as being loyal, altruistic, faithful and duty-conscious and intelligent, but also has negative traits, such as being insecure, overly cautious, introvert and restless. Dogs are balanced humans. This is because of the fact that they don’t have extremely high expectations, in people but also in their life standards. Dogs are always there for people if things are going badly for them. Their inner strength, honesty and respect for justice make them esteemed fellows in society. However dogs are also sometimes seen as too conservative and that they are often seen to be sticking their nose into affairs, which do not concern them. This is a rare occurrence though and their generosity and their genuine sympathy for others, weighs out the negative characteristics.

As partners and friends:

Dogs are faithful friends that can be relied on. They are not afraid of moving in higher social levels, but prefer to be in a group of people who share the same interests. Dogs love outdoor sporting activities, and enjoy sharing this interest with their partners. With regards to finding a partner; dogs are very shy and it takes them quite some time before they find the courage to share their feeling with their partner. Once dogs have found their partner for life, they are tender and considered partners and will do anything to keep the relationship going.
